STOP THE BLEED

This program is useful not only for security officers, but for anyone who wants to stop someone from bleeding. It is designed to train a layperson to stop the bleeding in any situation. A tragedy can strike at any time whether it’s a mass shooting, a car accident, a playground mishap, or even a natural disaster. In most cases, a bystander will be the first person to render aid. Life-threatening bleeding can happen anywhere. This course teaches you the proper techniques to save someone’s life. The steps are simple. You will learn how to recognize a life-threatening bleed and the three techniques to stop the bleed. The class is 45 minutes long. You will view a PowerPoint presentation and then afterward, practice the techniques. Once the course has been completed, you will receive a certificate from the American College of Surgeons. This program is available and open to the general public as well.
